I got this tobacco box at an antique store a little while back. I love it.
I figured, since I have a tobacco basket, why not a tobacco box, too?
The stamping on the side of the box.
I moved my coffee table out of the living room for the time being.
It's been out on the carport for about a month.
I moved it out of the way so I could workout with my DVD's.
I keep my workout things in the box next to the tv with pillows in it.
Oh and I forgot to show a shot of the hallway after it was painted.
Still not a good representation of the paint color it is now.
I have tried to adjust the white balance on the camera, everything I can think of!
I'm going to put photos all up and down the hallway some time this year, too.
Also still on the hunt for the perfect office desk so I can finish up my bedroom and the guest room.

looks great! did you install those wood floors or did they come with the house? we are looking into flooring now...just curious! I love the new wall color!

Come by sometime.

The house was mostly carpet when I moved in. I replaced it all with the walnut flooring. It really made a huge difference in how the house looked!
I bought the walnut from an independent business in Virginia.
What a great find that box is...things like that really add such character to a house. And I just love looking at your home. It is so inviting!

I love finding unique treasures like this to use in every day decor. I would love to find something similar for my magazines in our rustic livingroom in progress. we did find a very cool rusted pail that would be amazing by the fireplace, but I think that will hold logs or matches. I am officially on the search now! lol I love your new paint color, by the way. Every room look so calm and inviting. Great job.
Looks fantastic! Loving the box.
:)
I LOVE the box. Perfect touch to hold things in. I love ur blog and am ur newest follower!
I love your beautiful home. You are a great decorator!! I was wondering if you can tell me where you got your rug in your living room. I am looking for a rug right now and I think yours would be perfect.
Thanks!

Renea, Thanks! I got the rug from JC Penney.
I've been looking for something to do with my workout stuff. I'm stealing your idea!!
So fun to see antiques from different regions of the country. Here in Indiana, we have plenty of Hoosier cabinets, but I've never seen a tobacco box (or basket!)Great little piece with both personality and history!
Your room looks great! The walnut floors are gorgeous. I can hardly wait until the day I can take the carpet out of our upstairs hall. Your picture of the hallway is making me wish it was sooner than later :)
The wood floors are beautiful, and I love the boxes, especially the tobacco basket you found. Your treasure hunt was quite a success! You have a lovely home...thanks for sharing with us. Luv-Loretta
Wow! That is a great box! You are lucky to have a piece of our NC history.
